Hello! What I am sharing you today is a recipe from my aunt Nida. I admit my aunt has a big contribution on my interest for baking that soon became a passion. So I’d like to thank my aunt for sharing this recipe to me. 🙂 . This recipe is loved by my Filipino friends here in Ireland especially cheese lovers (;  .  I couldn’t find a single post about cheese bars here in the internet so  I decided to put it in my blog.

PROCEDURE:

1. Preheat oven at 165’C.

2. Sift flour and baking powder. Set aside.

3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg, condensed milk & grated cheese.

4.Pour the flour mixture gradually until well blended.

    1. hi mary, you can use 9×13 inches baking pan or if it’s not available then you can use the baking pans you have, just keep an eye on how thick you want your cheese bars to be. happy baking 🙂

    1. Hello amnyang, sorry for my very late reply, haven’t checked the blog for quiet sometime now. Anyway, I didn’t have the rectangular pan so what I used is two square pan and I cut it into squares, well sometimes rectangular shapes. I just can’t remember how many cheesebars I wrapped but I think 60-80 pcs or more ,thanks for visiting my page 🙂

I’m sorry to hear that I guess you over bake it. when the toothpick you inserted comes out clean then it’s done. minsan kasi akala mo malambot pa sya pero once you take it out from the oven titigas nrin yan.I’m sorry I can’t tell you how long ko xa binake, sa recipe kasi ng tita ko just bake at moderate heat until done so kelangan i check lng from time to time pra d masunog at ma over bake .pag mgbake ako ulit nito I will try to monitor how long ko xa binake at I will let you know. Thank you for trying the recipe:)

    1. Hello Jo! I’m not sure how long ang shelf life but I can remember before in the Philippines my aunt would stock cheese bars in an airtight container and would last for a month. Just wrap the cheese bars individually. Thanks for trying out the recipe and very happy to hear that you liked it!Enjoy!

  11. Hi! Thanks for sharing this recipe.. You are right, there are no other recipes on the net for CHEESE BARS… I’ve been searching for a long time… I did this and it is really delicious…… baked it for 40 minutes but I prefer it to be harder so I guess I’ll bake it longer and also maybe lessen the sugar to 1 1/2…. also, I used 2 bars of EDEN Regular cheese because I love cheese! Anyway, I think this recipe is perfect, just customize it according to your liking!!!! will be making this again tonight with lesser sugar…….

  15. Hi! Thank you for sharing this recipe; this is the only recipe I found in Google for cheese bars. Hmmm should it really be sticky and chewy? Or maybe I undercooked it? What size is the bar of cheese? is it the big one (165g)?

    1. My cheese bars are more like gooey. When in the Philippines I used the Eden cheese bar (175g) but here in Ireland I am using Galtee cheese (225g).And your baking time will depend on how thick your bars, just keep an eye on it and make sure the flour is well mixed with the wet ingredients .Thanks for trying out the recipe.:)

  16. Hi po! I tried this recipe and the results is amazing! But I change the process while baking. I baked 20 mins then I added the said half the topping then back to oven. Bake again in 10-20 mins. After 10mins. removed from oven and cool, I added the remaining topping cheese. I just want to taste atleast the unbaked cheese that why I did it.

    1. Hello Laila 🙂 I’m sorry for my late reply.Anyway,I have not tried using cream cheese for this recipe. I think it will change the taste and texture since cream cheese is more tangy and creamy.

    1. Hello John I’m sorry but I don’t know how to make the middle part toasted. Baking it longer makes the cheesebars hard, the perfect bars should be moist and chewy. thanks
